See the forum for the latest updates on this event.

Teams consisting of between 2 and 8 runners will run the Wicklow Way in relay. There are eight stages, ranging from 8km to 21km. This is a fundraising event for the IMRA Junior International teams.

Registration Process

Registration opens at 14:00 on Friday, 21st March 2025. Team captains must purchase a team registration at a standard price of €144.00, regardless of team size.

After purchasing team registration, captains must declare their team using the following online form: CAPTAINS TEAM FORM.

Teams will be listed on the forum no later than Sunday, 11th May 2025.

THIS COMPLETES REGISTRATION. Then you have TWO MORE steps to complete before your team will be allowed to start on race day. These will be communicated by email to captains of confirmed teams.

WWR Rules 2024

  1. Each team must provide a car park marshal at a pre-designated stage. Failure to do so will render the team 'non-competitive.'
  2. Each runner must carry the team baton (a GPS tracker in a waistbelt) and hand it over at their stage end. Failure results in 'non-competitive' status.
  3. Only one team per sporting club may officially enter (e.g., Athletics Ireland, Triathlon Ireland, etc.).
  4. Teams must submit the online Wicklow Way Registration form after paying the entry fee.
  5. Team members/running order can only be changed before 17:00, Friday 16th May 2024. Later changes = 'non-competitive' status.
  6. Missed handovers cannot be replaced by another runner. The team remains 'non-competitive.'
  7. If a runner fails to complete their stage "in its entirety", the team is 'non-competitive.' Runners should know the route, recce it, and follow markings. Mistakes must be corrected on-course and reported to the captain. GPS tracking is recommended to resolve disputes.
  8. Disrepute (e.g., littering, poor parking) results in team disqualification.
  9. All team members must have recced their leg in advance. Support crews are required.
  10. Changeovers only allowed at official stage ends.
  11. Parking restrictions must be followed (see event page). Vehicles must display team and contact numbers. Non-compliance may result in penalties or disqualification.

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
