- Organisers Instructions:
- Lugnacoille but not as you know it. This race is NOT from Fentons via Camarahill. Rather, this is a new IC Lug route race for the 2025 calendar. It will be familiar to those who ran the route for the first time in 2024 in the Leinster Champs. Starting from the Ballinabarney gap in south Wicklow, near the Glen of Imaal, the race will go up Ballineddan and Slievemaan, to Lugnaquilla, returning back to the start the same way. You should visit / run past the stone pile marking the top of Ballineddan and Slievemaan on the way out and back. You should run around cairn that marks the top of Lug. Start Grid Reference: S 986 903 Google Pin for start location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hWvUbUhjzDYwW5rbA Parking will be off the road (on forest fire-road), just down from the start location. The first forest barrier on the right side. We have the barrier key to get cars in off the minor road. The paper map you'll need is the EastWest Mapping Lugnaquilla Glendalough map. Failure to bring mandatory kit items may lead to disappointment at race registration, so please double check you have them. Championship races are open mountain races with no marking. Not suitable for Juniors. Registration will open at 11:45am. Early start 12.30pm. Early start is for those runners normally 160% or higher of winners time.
- Prizegiving Location:
- O'Keeffe's pub Knockananna
Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
