Getting There:
Djouce Woods, Old Long Hill Road - Turn off N11 at Kilmacanogue onto R755 for Glendalough. After 1.5km, take the right-hand turn for the R760 - Enniskerry/ Powerscourt Waterfall Road sign. After 1.3km take a sharp left-hand turn for the L1036 - Sally Gap/ Roundwood Road sign. Car Parking will be tight , follow the parking marshal's instructions - The main parking is at the first car park at Djouce Woods, Old Long Hill ( grid ref : 0213 131 ). When this car park is full, you will be diverted up Long Hill to the second car park. Car Pooling is recommended - after coming off the N11 at Kilmac, there is a car park to the right off the roundabout at Pluck's, this can accommodate about 30 cars and we would suggest that car pooling be from here. Registration is in the Long Hill car park and the Race start / Finish is 500m down the fire road at the first " v " in the road... Organisers Instructions:
Registration / Sign-in on the night will open at 18:15 and close at 19:15 sharp.. The race will start at 19:30 sharp. Everyone running must REGISTER on the night. After registering all chips must be scanned by the laptop operator pre-race. This action allows us to account for everyone pre & post-race. Race Route: The route will be the same as last year plus an extra bit of a sprint down the fire road as the race will now start at the first V junction on the fire road. Early start at 7.00 can be used by anyone that expects to be in excess of 160% of the winning time. Juniors / Short course will be 5 minutes after the main start and the distance will be just under 5km and with an elevation gain of 295m which is a tougher than the normal juniors race and may not be suitable for under 10's.. Race Number and Race Chip - Collect yours at Reg. if you don't have either already. No head phones are allowed, it's dangerous. Registration will take place in the Djouce Woods main car park, Long Hill road. This is a change from the usual registration location as the race will be starting 500m down the fire road at the v junction. Registration will be open from 6.15 to 7.15pm with the early starters being given priority in the queues. Early start at 7.00pm. Short course / Juniors will start 5 minutes after the main race. .
Prizegiving Location:
Unfortunately, with the closing of Pluck's, we havn't been able to find a suitable venue for the afters. Prizegiving will be at the finish line and we will also be providing some refreshments there.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
