Route Description:
The route will showcase Ardgillan Demesne where many of "Northside IMRA folk" do their training. There will be rolling hills, tough runnable climbs, a scenic beach section on firm enough sand, the tough Ardgillan parkrun finish hill and views of the Mourne Mountains if the weather plays ball. It is well worth the trip from Dublin/Wicklow and there is even a big playground to keep the kids entertained. The junior course will be around 5km long and finishes on the beach. Please note that it is a 2km long, pleasant uphill walk from the finish to the car park.
Getting There:
Put "Ardgillan Castle" into google maps and you should be grand. Beautiful Ardgillan Demesne is located between Skerries and Balbriggan off the M1. Public transport: Dublin Bus 33 serves Balbriggan from City Centre. Your stop is at the Lady's Stairs. Balbriggan train station is just over 4km away from Ardgillan. It's a scenic jog along the coast. Skerries train station is also just over 4km away, but the route is not as scenic and less safe.
Organisers Instructions:

No jacket = no result. Bring the mandatory jacket and have it crossing the finish line.

You should start the race at the specified gun-times, or choose a distance that suits your ability.

Early start at 7pm. Runners with a >160% a winner's time should use the early start. Unless you intend using a race voucher to pay for the race, you will need to REGISTER ON-LINE for the event and for the year if this is your first race this year. If you have bought vouchers on line and are collecting them please bring confirmation of payment. Registration will close at 6PM the evening before the race to allow us print off the list of runners. If you want to run and have missed this you can use your or someone else voucher if they are willing. However you will need to be registered for the year( €10 paid on-line). On the night you will be directed either to the 'Registered on-line' table to sign in or to the 'pay with voucher' table to have your card punched AND SIGN IN. If this is your first race this year, you will collect your number which you KEEP for the year. Please bring confirmation of number and registration.
Prizegiving Location: The historic Man O'War pub is 5km from Ardgillan Castle on the way back towards the M1. We will have food and spot prizes for you. Please park in the car park at the back.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
