Organisers Instructions:
Start/finish at J 126 144 (the layby 400m north of the Windy Gap). Bring your own copy of the new Cooley map from EastWest Mapping. The list of controls will be handed out at the start. A master map will be made available 5 minutes later for anyone wishing to check the locations. There will be two courses: Long and "Easy". The "Easy" course will suit beginner navigators and is approx. 10k on runnable paths (though the more 'interesting' the route, the shorter it gets!). The Long is approx. 12k-15k. Controls are generally in easy to find locations and choosing the optimum route between them is where the challenge lies!

Courses close 1500. All competitors must be off the hill by then.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
