- Route Description:
- Due to new fencing the last part of the route is different to the 2019 race. The terrain is varied with some of it rough under foot. Runners must follow the fence as they run towards the old firing range, cutting corners is not permitted. The start and finish location has also changed. The race will start at the top carpark and finish in a slightly different location also at the top carpark. The Junior/short course route is an out and back route which is longer and more varied that the previous junior route (5 km approx)
- Getting There:
Taylor's 3 rock pub is at the bottom of Kellystown Lane at the junction with College Road and Harold's Grange road. On the map page the position of the parking sign is where the race will start at Ticknock carpark.
Kellystown Lane is the first left turn (heading north-west towards the Marlay Park) after you leave Ticknock carpark. Sign on will be in Taylor's 3 Rock pub.
- Organisers Instructions:
Race sign on will open at 6.00pm at TAYLORS 3 ROCK PUB (not ticknock).
Race sign on will close (no more entries taken at all) at 7.15pm to allow organisers time to get to the start for 7.30pm. We aim to start at 7.30pm.
You should aim to be at the start location at 7.20pm.
Please do not DO NOT PARK ON ROAD OUTSIDE TICKNOCK Forest Entrance - double yellow lines and Gardaí are ticketing cars!
Please Car Pool from Lidl/ Centra at Grange Road just opposite Marley Park plus there are some spaces at Taylors Three Rock Pub. - please park in lay-by areas not on roads within the forest park.
From pub to race start is about 2km running and 150m vertical climb for warm up/cool down.
There will be an early start at 1900 EXACTLY.
All competitors, and particularly those who have not competed this year already, should READ the NEW REGISTRATION GUIDELINES.
We are NO longer accepting MONEY at races.
Mandatory Gear
Official IMRA race number
Under IMRA rules for competitors safety, it is MANDATORY to bring and carry a jacket that is shower and wind proof for the entire race. Any competitor seen not carrying or wearing their jacket at any stage in the race will be disqualified. There are no exceptions to this rule.WE WILL BE CHECKING FOR THIS!
Finishing without mandatory kit will result in disqualification.
Chip timing will be in use for this race. Please ensure that you have a chip coded to your current race number at registration before starting this race.
Early Start
There will be an early start at 19:00 EXACTLY.

Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
