Mike LongFeb 2 2014, 7:27pmDear All
I am marking this race. I would like to recce the route soon. Does anyone know where I might get a more detailed copy of the map. The route looks reasonably complicated and I would like to get it right
Thanks
Mike
Adrian HennessyFeb 3 2014, 9:00amMike,
I'll mark the route with you. It's fairly complicated but I marked it with Gerry Brady last year so I should remember it. It takes a good 2 hours to mark for 2 people.
Thanks,
Adrian
Gerry BradyFeb 3 2014, 10:20pm
Mike, the Route Description attachment on the event page is very detailed.
Rachel CinnsealachFeb 3 2014, 10:20pmWe still need a race director for this.

Any volunteers??
Brian O MurchuFeb 26 2014, 7:13pmCan assist anyone thinking about doing Race Director role, am down for Deputy RD
Mick HanneyMar 2 2014, 7:21pmI have the race gear with the exception of the laptop which Pol will have in due course.

I plan on being there on Saturday but if the gear is needed early, e.g. for marking, it might need to be handed over during the week? To who I don't know.

We used our own marking tape yesterday so the marking bag is as it was after Trooperstown. I had a quick look and it appears to have plenty of tape.

As I said to Alan some clipboards appear to have gone walkies so some are needed for the kit.

I sorted the kit after the race yesterday. Some New registration forms would be handy. There is a float but its pretty much all 2 euro coins so a 1 euro coins would be handy. A set of vouchers for prizes are needed for Maulin.

First aid is well stocked and there is a box of backup supplies for it.
Alan AylingMar 2 2014, 8:58pmThere should be plenty of marking tape in the kit.

I will try to arrange some more clipboards before then.

Best if the race director prints out some registration forms directly from the site.
Mike LongMar 3 2014, 2:51pmDear Adrian and all
I have a few spare hours on Friday afternoon and plan to head out then and mark as much of the course as possible before it gets dark. I have a roll of marking tape. If I could have your mobile I could stay in touch with you about needing help Saturday morning.
Take care
Mike
Adrian HennessyMar 3 2014, 3:19pmHi Mike,
It's 0 eight 7 nine 6 nine 0 three 3 two. Can you send me your number as well?
I won't be around on Friday evening but I can be there early on Saturday. I can start marking it in reverse. The biggest problems last year were on the descent on the new walking trails where a bunch of runners failed to take the turn up the hill after the wall.
Thanks,
Adrian
Brian O MurchuMar 6 2014, 6:34pmOpportunities exist for non-running volunteers!
Rachel CinnsealachMar 6 2014, 11:26pmFolk's,

This route will be slightly different to last year. This year we will not be going to the summit of Maulin.

We still really need more volunteers.

All offers welcome.

rach.
Keith McBeanMar 7 2014, 7:23amGrateful if you could indicate what time volunteers need to be there (I'm down as a running volunteer).? Thanks.
Mick HanneyMar 7 2014, 7:49amVolunteers for 9.30 I would suggest with registration to start c. 9.45 or whenever ready.
Rachel CinnsealachMar 7 2014, 8:04amYes, Just confirming what Mick said. Can all volunteers be in Crone car park for 9.30 am.

John BuckleyMar 7 2014, 7:32pmLooking forward to tomorrow now...I've got a tenner on Jerome at 5/1 for the league. Don't let me down buddy ;-) See you in the morning all.
Angus TynerMar 7 2014, 7:40pmAny detail on junior route?
Mick HanneyMar 7 2014, 8:32pmEvent details say:-

Younger runners can turn back at the foot of the steep grass ascent and run back the same way
Rachel CinnsealachMar 7 2014, 10:42pmHi Angus, I have been talking to Mike long and Adrian Hennessy who are marking the course, and they will ensure there is a junior course. Details will be given at the race tomorrow.
Petra TolarovaMar 7 2014, 11:10pmHi,apologies for such a short notice but I can't commit tomorrow as volunteer.
Petra
James H CahillMar 8 2014, 6:25pmThank you Angela for stepping forward at short notice to RD this race. Together with your team of helpers you put together a great well organized, well marked race, with the added difficulty of having to adjust the course route at short notice.
Torben DahlMar 8 2014, 6:47pmWell done to all who ran today! I have the laptop with the results ready to be uploaded in due course. I will also have to pass on the laptop to someone for the Hellfire Race next week... Please be patient with the results to be posted as I don't know how to upload them myself. Also note that race number 288 will be on the results as DNF, as that person registered for the year today but didn't do the race itself. By default it seems that the database assumes that someone registering for the year on the race day is also take part in the race on the day...
Richard NunanMar 9 2014, 10:03pmTorben, if you email me the CSV I can upload the results. The laptop needs to go to Pol.
Fergal DalyMar 10 2014, 2:30pmAny update on when you think the results will be posted ?
Robbie WilliamsMar 10 2014, 3:08pmQuick I need my results now!!!!!!
Only kidding....

Just want to say thank you to the organisers for a great race and a very interesting course!
Travelled up from Cork and was well worth it.

Well Done
Sam ScrivenMar 10 2014, 3:51pmOut of interest, what route did the race follow?
Anyone with a report or garmin file?

Richard NunanMar 12 2014, 12:43pmThey are up !!
Mick HanneyMar 12 2014, 7:59pmDid Juniors run the entire route? Theres a junior listed 5th which could be right but it doesn't match the order of photos coming off the hill.
Torben DahlMar 12 2014, 8:26pmMick, that's what you told me when I asked you about the juniors in the pub... Therefore I have put them down as having run the entire route...
Mick HanneyMar 12 2014, 8:36pmThat was my understanding. Just not used to seeing juniors up so near the front, but if thats the case then fair play!
Damien McParlandMar 13 2014, 9:35amI'm down as 6th but I'm pretty sure there were only 4 runners in front of me so I don't think juniors did the entire route. I could be wrong though! Does anybody know for sure?
Paul MahonMar 13 2014, 9:41pmI am sure only 4 were ahead of you too Damien so guessing Joseph was on the Junior course - Unfortunately I was not one of the 4 but maybe next time ;-)
Torben DahlMar 14 2014, 8:30amPaul, just acknowledge that you were beaten by a junior ;)
Angus TynerMar 14 2014, 9:06amThe juniors missed out on the final up and down. They continued straight on down the fire road to finish.
Damien McParlandMar 14 2014, 9:13amA summer league rivalry has been born Paul! ;-)
Paul MahonMar 18 2014, 8:48amAye indeed Damien. Rivalries throughout the field are part of what makes IMRA races such fun but why wait until the summer? WW ultra at J Foxes this Sat suits me for a KO :-)
