Route Description:
Pine Forest Car Park - Tibradden - Two Rock - Tibradden - pine Forest Car park. This is a straightforward out and back route with no loop around Fairy Castle.
Getting There:
Parking for the Bubblegum Club Tibradden Basecamp race differs slightly from previous editions. The Merry Ploughboy Pub can't be used for carpooling due to space restrictions and they have requested that we do not use their carpark before the race. They have kindly arranged for us to park in the Ballyboden Wanderers GAA Club carpark before the race so we can carpool from there. There will be some parking in the Pine Forest Car Park but we would ask single car occupants to please pool from the GAA Club. About 200m past the Merry Ploughboy Pub towards Pine Forest, there is a RIGHT turn onto Mt. Venus Road. Continue on Mt. Venus Road for approx 500m and on the LEFT is the GAA Club.
Organisers Instructions:
Basecamp and IMRA are holding a benefit hill race to raise funds for The Bubblegum Club which is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged and ill children. The Bubblegum Club supports kids nationwide.

The hill race will be held using the traditional Wednesday Leinster League format and it is hoped it will attract those looking for an end of season blow out to raise funds for a worthy cause.

Entry will be 7 euro for IMRA members and 10 euro for non IMRA members. Prizes will be donated by Basecamp.

Keith’s Dream Come True:

Keith, from County Monaghan is a remarkable young man who is wheelchair bound from an extremely aggressive form of ‘Still’s Disease’, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. His care is 24 hours a day and there is a lot of expensive medical equipment, which restricts him to either hospital or home. He has been give a very short period to live.

We arranged for a helicopter to collect Keith from Cavan General Hospital and fly him and his medical team to Dublin Airport, where he boarded a private plane bound for Manchester. On arrival he was whisked by limousine and a police escort to a Private Box in Old Trafford, where he watched his favourite football team, Manchester United play Liverpool, they won.

After the match, the Manchester United and Ireland Captain, Roy Keane, introduced this extraordinary young man to the entire Manchester United Team and their Partners, (when he emerged, the informed his Doctor that Posh Spice must be pregnant as her bottom was quite large!!). After a meal he was returned home safely to Cavan General Hospital.

looking forward to seeing everyone on the night.

Happy Running,
Gearoid Towey

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
