Race Three in new NORTH WEST LEAGUE
ROUTE:
This route is an out and back route, just short of 10km. It will take you along part of the Miners Way and Historical Trail up across the Bricklieve Mountains over to the tombs, the turnaround point. The Miners Way and Historical Trail is waymarked using black marker posts with yellow arrows, the race route will be full marked with IMRA markers and marshals at major junctions. The short course is also and out and back and will be just short of 5km, the turn around point will be marshalled and is not long after the exit of the valley, this is also the junior route.
The first and last 1km of the route, is narrow with long grass and hidden rocks underfoot, caution is advised on this section. There are designated step overs along the route that you will need to climb over. After the first 1km of climbing the route evens out a bit before heading into the valley for a steep descent with grass underfoot, care is advised in this section, you will then climb out of the valley and follow the gravel paths towards the tombs before returning home on the same trail. Descending runners will have right of way on the returning route.

Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
