Route Description:
Start at the barrier at Wicklow Way junction on Old Military Road, up along Wicklow Way and then left out towards Scar summit, right turn and descend on the narrow track along tree line to meet the Wicklow Way following it back to the start.

Please note that as per IMRA rules, a WATERPROOF jacket must be carried at all times during the race. Any runner without a jacket cannot run and any runner found disgarding their jacket mid-run or crossing the finish line without a jacket will be disqualified.

Parking is limited at the race start so can you please try to car pool from Laragh - there are a few spaces at the bottom of the hill on the right only (please note to the left at Glendalough Green cafe, parking is for patrons only, so please respect this). Alternatively there is a large free car park through Laragh on the R755 at the Woolen Mills.

On Saturday 27th May 2023, the 16th edition of the World Mountain Running Associations (WMRA) International U18 Mountain Running Cup will be held in Annecy, France.

The championship course will be an up and downhill circuit approximately 4.4kms in length with 230m of ascent and descent.

Venue: Annecy is located in the Auvergne-Rhone Alpes region of Southeastern France.

Eligibility: 4 female and 4 male athletes born in 2006 or 2007

Note - athletes born in 2004/2005 or 2008 are welcome to attend the trial race for race experience, however they are NOT eligible for selection.

Target times will be less than 27 mins for boys and less than 31 mins for girls.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
