Short Course

There will be a short course turn-around option for at the first mandatory point on the col in case of bad weather. Any runner who does not feel confident to proceed to the summit in bad weather is to take the short course option.

Getting There:

Parking

Parking at Silver Strand Car Park: https://goo.gl/maps/6KGPyrr7iWiZpL4W8

From Westport head to Louisburgh. Go straight through Louisburgh and keep on the main road until you reach the Silver Strand which is signposted. This is a narrow road and it's possible to get caught behind slow moving traffic very easily. Be sure to give yourself enough time to get to the race in time for registration!

Camping + BBQ

***There is space booked in a campsite in Lecanvy for the 7th & 8th August. The campsite is at the base of Croagh Patrick and within walking distance of the pier and beach at Lecanvy.

There will be a bbq at the campsite on the evening of Sat 2nd July.

All are welcome for camping or bbq or both - please book in advance to guarantee a place - To book, and for further details please see the Forum Thread on Connaught Champs Camping here: https://www.imra.ie/forum/topic/id/6111

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
