Route Description:

Start is in Deerpark golf course car park. The race will start at the back of the car park near the hotel with around 100m run before you have a sharp right and left turn along the side of the hotel bar. 50 metres later and you are on the lap at the foot of the Deerpark climb. The lap is a figure 8 with the Deerpark loop and the Shielmartin loop. All runners do the Deerpark climb and then the Shielmartin loop which starts with a steep climb. Seniors do a SECOND lap of Shielmartin before finishing the Deerpark loop whereas juniors only do one lap.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF REGISTRATION OF VENUE. IT IS NO LONGER HOWTH GAA MANDATORY Equipment for this race is Jacket and Hat/Buff. Failure to produce these at the Finish line will result in a DNF Please Note - Race Registration will close at 11:30am Sharp!

Please complete your IMRA registraion online a few days in advance of the race if you can.

Race starts at GAA pitch in Howth. One person occupancy cars will not be admitted to GAA club. Collect runners from Howth Dart station and at car park opposite Mauds cafe on seafront.  There is no parking available on roads adjacent to GAA club. Give way to people out walking.

Be very aware of numerous rocks underfoot throughout the lap that could result in a nasty fall or a twisted ankle. In Deerpark, the summit rocks can be slippy while the forest trails are mucky with tree roots and sporadic rock clusters creating dangerous underfoot conditions. Be watchful of head height branches.

Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
