South East League 2025

AuthorDateMessage
Mick HanneyJan 2 2025, 9:02pmWe really are spoiled for choice with so many races.
For those that don't know the South East League is another of IMRA's gems.
The league takes commitment and consistency as its spread out but there are great events to look forward to.
4 races from 7 to complete the League. If you plan ahead its a great league to tick off.
We have a mix of old and new.
There is the novelty of a summer Annagh hill race. I will RD a new race at Askanagap hill overlooking the Wicklow way outside Aughrim. It'll be an easy one ;-)
If you do both races and the Annacurra trail race, that is almost a local league of "A" races.
Get the calendar out and start planning.

Sat Feb 15 Dysart Woods
Sun Mar 16 Askanagap Hill
Sun Apr 27 Tory Hill
Sat May 24 Comeragh Mountain
Sun Jun 15 Blackstairs Mountain
Sun Jul 13 Johns Hill, Killbrannish
Sat Aug 9 Annagh Hill
Mick HanneyFeb 10 2025, 8:21pmThe 1st SEL race of the season is on sale. Race is on Saturday. Anyone brave enough to do the double of Sat and Sun races?
Mick HanneyFeb 15 2025, 7:28pmSuper 1st race of the SEL at Dysart. Race 2, Askanagap a month from now.
Mick HanneyMar 7 2025, 8:29pmAskanagap hill race entries open on Monday. A first time for an IMRA event here. Its a cracking route..
Mick HanneyMar 12 2025, 6:57pm2nd SEL race this Sun. If you already ran at Dysart you are 1/4 the way to completing the league, but plenty of races for people if you are just starting out. Askanagap hill is a good challenge with a bit of everything for the hill runner, with junior/short course/early start options.
Mick HanneyMar 17 2025, 12:38pm2 races down, 5 more to go. Next race is Tory Hill.
Whether ran ran Dysart or Askanagap or neither, there is plenty of time to do your 4 SEL races if you want to complete the league.

Super racing at Askanagap hill yesterday with a super fast winning time by Zak Hanna and a close finish between Caroline and Becky in the ladies race. Juniors were out in force showing their elders a clean pair of heels on the downhills.
