| Liam Vines | Apr 3 2024, 5:26pm | Another info hour Sometimes we just can’t get a permit for a race or we get a permit but for a reduced amount of runners. This was the case with two races that were on the 2024 calendar. 1)Circuit of Glenmacanass 9th June.LC We just could not get a permit for this race because of erosion issues coming into and going out of Glanmacanass waterfall car park. We set to work on finding a replacement race and also tried to create a new route. Stranahely Woods is now on the calendar. Permission was sought and granted from NPWS Coillte and The Defense Forces. Details will be up on the race page in next few days. 2)Sorrel Hill 31st July LL As this race is an out and back we were given a permit but only for 100 runners. This just doesn’t work for a Wednesday night race. We decided to try keep a LL race in West Wicklow so a route was created on Church Mountain near Hollywood and is now on the calendar. Church Mountain is privately owned so permission was sought and granted from four different landowners. Details will be up on race page in next few days. |
