Route Description:
Start Glenmacanass Waterfall carpark O 113 030

Carrigshouk (Cycwck on East West Map) O 097 051

Mullaghcleevaun O 067 070

Sorrel Hill O 041 119

Finish Lacken O 011 109

Wet weather Checkpoint Gate O 060 091

Free route choice between Checkpoints. The road can be used from the Start to wherever you decide to turn in and head for Carrigshouk. Checkpoints will NOT be maned so it’s an honours system for the day.

If it is a very wet day or if it has been very wet in the few days before the race, we are not aloud to run the ridge between Mullaghcleevaun and Black Hill. So, if it is wet there will be a checkpoint at the edge of Ballynulyagh Forest. This is a gate that will be marked with a IMRA tape. If this route must be used the 3K of fire road North to the forest entrance is the most direct way out. Runners CAN run on the road up as far as Ballynultagh Gap to access the track to Sorrel Hill. From the gate checkpoint to Sorrel Hill is free route choice.

The Gap Road between Lacken and Ballynultagh Gap O 043 108 is out of bounds; in other words, you cannot run the tarmac road from Sorrel Hill down to the finish. The Mass path down into Lacken is across private farmland and is a well-used walking trail please respect the farmer and other users of the trail. The mass path comes out onto the road in Lacken so please take care as you come onto the road.

Organisers Instructions:
This race will have a 50-runner cap on it due to needing a bus to get to the start.

Registration and bus pickup will be in the carpark in Lacken village. Bus will leave at 9:45 sharp. The carpark in Lacken village is very small so we will need to carpool from the Blessington Bridge carpark 5k from Lacken

Prizegiving Location:
Zellers, Lacken

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
