76 souls took a chance on the weather and the bogs of the Featherbeds and raced up the highest peak in Dublin, Kippure last evening. For their reward they got some great views through not all were fit to enjoy them. From my vantage point on the summit I could see the Mournes and Wales.

Paul Mahon finally, as he said himself, had his day and won his first hill race, the first of many.
Notable among some fine runs was William Rock back after an absence and junior Rory McDonnell improving with every race.

Scot. Jimmy Steward who defended Irish honour by defeating Yank Tom McGinty in the Achill Ireland vs. USA challenge
was himself defeated by Yank Bruce Shenker. Laura McGinley had a fine run and was first lady home
