This competition was put on by the WMRA at short notice to facilitate international mountain runners and get them prepared and race fit for the World championships next February but just as we arrived home news broke that the World championships in February had fallen to the Covid Pandamic postponed till November 2022
Organisation by a great LOC via the what’s app worked very well nobody to meet and greet at the arrival airport I just got a photograph of the bus
Taking us to Chiavenna
The race was held on the established Val Bregaglia Trail a 20km race with more than 50% on road and tarmac and some very technical mountain descents
The start in Switzerland was very fast and some of our athletes paid the price Overall the team performed very well most on their first international
Walking was still a problem on Tuesday for some athletes including the second placed woman from Scotland who happens to be Sarah mc Cormacks physio
