Its amazing what funny thoughts formulate in your mind as you plod up the unrelenting slopes of Tonelagee...heres mine

A writer of Limericks, James Cahill
At Tonelagee he did do battle
The slope was so steep
That he started to weep
And then from his pram threw his rattle

On and on up the hill James he went
Though his legs and his nerves they were spent
As he dashed for the line
With a time that was fine
He cried 'whinging no more, I repent'!

Limerick writing, like hillrunning's tricky
Word rhyming can often be sticky
But James our good friend
He has started a trend
Lets see who can write the next ditty..

Great race, great weather, great company and a great aul day out in the hills
