Mo FoleyJun 19 2008, 8:44pmOn Saturday 28th June, the second Munster League mountain running race will take place on the Galtees, County Tipperary. The race starts at 1pm on Ballyannagh Boreen ? ?where?? one might well ask! The easiest way to get there is to go via Galbally. Take the road to the Glen of Aherlow, at the More Abbey keep left, go over the bridge, take the first right up Round Hill. A mile and a half later, turn left at a four cross roads (the cross of Bearna) and just a little over a mile down this road you come to a double boreen on the left hand side with a ditch separating them. Follow the boreen on the right; at the end of which is the registration and changing area. Race organiser, Tom Blackburn, can be contacted on 0876994976 ? should you get lost!

While some have described this race as ?a perfect race for newcomers to hill running to get a sample of what hill running is like? because the route is very straightforward and easy to follow, others would say that it is quite challenging ? parts of the climb are tough! Nevertheless, if last year?s hospitality of the extended Blackburn family is repeated this year, all participants can look forward to when they come down off the slopes of Curabingen. Walkers are also welcome.

The Munster League is a series races in the province in which all three races must be completed to compete in the League. The third and final race is in the Ballyhouras on 10th August. For more information, check out www.imra.ie
