Brian SmythJan 27 2025, 1:59pmHi All , with the first South East League race of 2025 at Dysart Woods fast approaching , I’m just putting a call out for volunteers . The 6.5km race will take place on Sat the 15th February . Fantastic to see an increase in numbers for this race last year , so we are hoping the trend continues : ).

Need a First Aider , Route Marshals , Car park Marshals, and Reg and Finish line volunteers .

Please sign up on the event page or post a message here on the forum .

Thanks folks
Brian SmythFeb 9 2025, 1:41pmThanks to all who have volunteered for the Dysart Dash.
A volunteer email will be sent out later in the week with roles and times etc.

Race entry will open in the online shop tomorrow at 9am and close on Friday at 6pm .

There will be a Junior Route again this year, which will be a little over 3km; and will be an out and back course . There will be a marshal at turnaround point. Please note U10 must be accompanied on the race route by a guardian or parent.

CARPARKING IMPORTANT NOTE : Please note where the carparking field (same as last year) is on the event page. A link has been provided . All runners and volunteers are to park at the carparking field. This is less than 5 mins walk to both the Registration and race start area at Corrigmeal Woodlands .

DO NOT go to the ‘Dysart Woods’ carpark on Google maps as we need to keep this small carpark uncongested for weekend walkers . It is also much further from the race start.

See race event page for more details .

We are looking forward to welcoming all to Co Laois for the first SEL race of the season .
Brian SmythFeb 13 2025, 9:14amHi All ,

Just a reminder that entry closes for the Dysart race at 6pm tomorrow evening .

We are getting good numbers so far for the first SEL trace to 2025. Keep her lit !

This is an ideal route for those starting out on the trails , and also for those who want to push themselves at shorter distances . Come give it a crack . It might just be the hidden gem thar you were looking for : )

Mick HanneyFeb 15 2025, 7:25pmIt was great to see so many juniors out at todays race. Well done to those boys and girls. Similarly great to see the nearly 50 50 male female representation at this race. Lastly, super to see Becky back running and winning.
Rob TobinFeb 15 2025, 8:57pmThanks Brian and team for today's mucking in lovely Laois. A fast rolling course through the woods, well marked throughout with strategically placed marshalls along the way, superb set of volunteers. A morning well spent.
Brian SmythFeb 15 2025, 9:57pmThanks a mill to all the volunteers today . Couldn’t have asked for a better bunch! Everyone put their shoulder to the wheel .

Glad to hear people enjoyed the route . It was nice to kickstart the South East League.
A big well done to all the runners and congrats to those with a podium finish . It was inspiring to see the Juniors in both races so strong . The future is bright for sure!

Looking forward to the SEL going forward . Some great races to come!
