Lillian DeeganMar 28 2023, 1:31pmHi all,

I’m RD seeking for this May 13th Irish Champs race.

Thanks - Lillian
Conor MurphyMar 29 2023, 8:00amIs that not organised by Newcastle AC and NIMRA?
Lillian DeeganMar 29 2023, 10:05amYes Conor, we have linked in with above for this year. I am popping in someone to do a few bit for me.

REBECCA CAROLANMay 8 2023, 2:12pmi'd really like to to do this one, but a bit nervous re the orienteering part, relatively new to mountain running, any advice please?
Justin ReaMay 9 2023, 11:34am@Rebecca this is a tough route especially in bad conditions. The navigation is not difficult as it only really involves the final section from the quarry to the finish. They sometimes mark an easy route, but this is not the quickest. It gives the locals a bit of an advantage ;-)
REBECCA CAROLANMay 9 2023, 1:57pmThanks Justin, haven't fully decided yet, nervous about doing it on my own, might give it a miss until I'm a bit more confident on mountains.
Peter McEvoyMay 9 2023, 5:00pmI’d be more worried about the nav from the carn to the quarry, easy in clear weather as you can roughly see where you need to go but in clag it’s a compass job (no real defined trail)
Peter O'FarrellMay 13 2023, 11:00pmSuper race today well organised by Newcastle AC in the bright warm sunshine.

Results to follow but as always everyone seemed to have fun.

I think it was Diane Wilson (Dromore AC) and Paul Pruzina (Pudsey and Bramley AC) who took the wins in their respective categories with Becky Quinn and Andrew Tees (BARF) keeping them honest in 2nd place.

It's a super race, a hard race, from nearly sea level to the highest point in Ulster in 4.5km and then a further 3.5km to 4km to 4.5km to the finish depending on your chosen route over the trackless hillside and many tracked forestry below.
Lillian DeeganMay 14 2023, 1:55pmSounds fabulous Peter. Thanks a lot to Orla and your good self for taking care of this one on our part.

Lillian

The results above reflect the runners in the Slieve Donard race who have an IMRA membership for 2023.

Full race results from the race itself are available on the Newcastle AC website.
Andrew McGibbonMay 15 2023, 11:57amI wonder whether my name and results could be added to the Donard Race as I plan to complete the IMRA championship. Place 129. Name Andrew Mc Gibbon Vet 55. I am a paid-up member of both NIMRA & NIMRA?
Andrew McGibbonMay 15 2023, 12:00pmAndrew Mc Gibbon

IMRA membership /race number 1650 please add my results for the Donard Race.
Conor O'FarrellMay 18 2023, 5:54pmHi All

To all IMRA members who ran this race and don't see their names in the results, please email me at results@imra.ie with your details.

Please note that you must have bought your annual IMRA membership by Friday 12th May 2023.

Please make sure to get in touch before 31st May 2023. I want to get this closed off by then and I don't want to have to keep revisiting it in dribs and drabs.

Thanks
Con
