All runners must bring the above items to the race. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day, depending on conditions etc., and clearly advised at Registration.

You should also have the means to carry all the kit in case required.

Failure to have the required items may lead to you being denied entry to the race, or disqualification. Random checks may be carried out.

Route Description:
1. 500m of fire road to forest edge. 2. Single track, opening out to wider track hand-railing a fence all the way to the top, c. 2k. The first 2.5k has 300m of climb. 3. 2k downhill, first handrailing fence beside forest then onto fireroad down along Wicklow way in Sheilstown. Nearly 200m pf descent. 4. Steep 600m climb thru forest to fireroad, followed by slight downhill fireroad. 5. Last climb(s) of the day. About 120m of climb over .5k, starting on a track then a section of open mountain/clear forest. 6. 2.5k downhill to the finish - same as 1 and 2 but in reverse. Short course does 1 and 2, then turn at summit cairn and back to start/finish.
Getting There:
From Dublin travel to Aughrim Co. Wicklow. Askanagap is about 15 mins beyond Aughrim.
Juniors:
Yes. M/F18 for main race. Other Junior ages can do short course only.
Early Start:
Yes, 30 mins beforehand, for long course only. Short course will start alongside the main race start.
Organisers Instructions:
Part of the 2025 South East League. This is a new route taking in Askanagap hil which overlooks the Wicklow way near Sheilstown. Race location starts c1.3k from Ballymanus GAA, Askangap, which is c. 10 mins beyond Aughrim Co. Wickow

Please note the updated start time for the main race. 12 noon. Registration will start just after 10.30 at Askanagap community hall If you are doing the early start, this starts at 11.30am. Start is c.1.4k jog from registration. Short course starts at 12 noon with main race. No early start for short course..
Prizegiving Location:
TBC on the day. If weather is fine we might to this at finish line or adjourn back to Askanagap Community hall Raffle / spot prizes on the day. Race winners will be announced but their prize will be emailed to them post-race.

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
