Race Start:
11am at Baile Breac carpark. This is at the foot of Mt Brandon.
Race Details:
The course will have some marking and there will be course Marshalls positioned at main junctions. If its a clear day, the course is relatively easy to follow, however, if there is any sort of mist/fog, you will need to have navigation skills. At the very least, have the gpx downloaded and ready to use in case. Main big climb is up Mt Brandon, as you come off the ridge, there is steep climb up to An Géarán. From here is downhill until you reach the saddle of Mullach Bhéal which leads to one more big climb. After that its a boggy trail with some great open vista's if its clear and then a descent to the carpark at Connors Pass. You will cross the road here and then follow a grassy boggy track towards Dingle town. The final section is just over 2km of stony path/road to the finish line at Paul Geaneys Courtyard where you registered.
Finish Area:
Big courtyard out the back of Paul Geaneys pub. There will be soup and sambos for all finishers. There is direct access to the bar for anyone who wants liquid recovery aids.
Prizes for 1st,2nd and 3rd male and female.
Camping Option: Rainbow Hostel Dingle.
Located just 1.5km from Dingle town, there is a hostel with 40 tent pitches. The owner is aware of the IMRA race weekend and recommends that people just book their tent pitch individually. This is a very busy time of the year in Dingle so the sooner you book the better. Website with contact details here - https://rainbowhosteldingle.com/
Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
