All runners must bring the above items to the race. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day, depending on conditions etc., and clearly advised at Registration.

You should also have the means to carry all the kit in case required.

Failure to have the required items may lead to you being denied entry to the race, or disqualification. Random checks may be carried out.

Route Description:
FREE ROUTE CHOICE EVENT!
Competitors are free to choose the peak sequence, direction and lines they take to visit the following locations:

START/FINISH at BOLEYHORRIGAN (O 164 084).
Djouce: Trig point (O 179 103).
Maulin: small cairn (O 185 131).
Tonduff South: Carved boulders (O 159 135).
War Hill: small cairn (O 169 113).
Getting There:
Via N11 southbound from Dublin, at Kilmacanogue take Roundwood exit and follow R755 towards Roundwood. Turn right onto the R759 (signposted Sally Gap), continue straight through the cross roads and a couple of kilometres along the road on your right In this Car Park at Pier Gates.

Registration & Start/Finish R759 at BOLEYHORRIGAN

Allow 25mins to get from car park to registration: it is a 25min jog from the car park at Pier Gates to the registration at the start/finish area. Head northwest towards Sally Gap.
There are small lay-bys that may accommodate a few cars closer to the start. Race volunteers will prioritise available spaces for full cars. Please park your car in a way that does not obstruct barriers, gates or other vehicles.

This is a busy little road; please be mindful of cyclists and other road users when traveling to and from the start/finish.
Organisers Instructions:
Important Times
Registration: 1030am to 1130am.
Early Start: 1100am for runners typically 160% or more of winning time.
Race Start: 12noon

Navigation: Participants must self-navigate in Championship races, including the Dargle Four Peaks. A map and compass can be used to assist with navigation. GPS cannot be used. This includes having a quick look at a map on your phone to check your location. A phone must be carried but should you use it, or any other electronic device, to navigate during the race you must declare yourself non-competitive and return to the finish taking the shortest safe route possible.

Mandatory Kit: Due to the nature of this race, it is likely that all Level C kit will be need to be carried. This will be advised on the day. Each runner should consider their ability, experience and the possible conditions and carry any additional items that might be needed to manage their personal safety.

Prizegiving Location:
Finish line area.
No pub, but there will be nice refreshments etc waiting for you when you cross the line to fuel your 'jog' back to the car. It would be worth bringing a change of clothes to the start line which you can change into after the race (no valuables please)
 

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
