All runners must bring the above items to the race. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day, depending on conditions etc., and clearly advised at Registration.

You should also have the means to carry all the kit in case required.

Failure to have the required items may lead to you being denied entry to the race, or disqualification. Random checks may be carried out.

Getting There:
Take the N11 to Wicklow and follow the road signs towards Rathnew/Wicklow. Take the Rathdrum/Glenealy road at the roundabout in Rathnew. .

If coming from Ashford, drive through the village towards Rathnew, at the fork in the road just after the Spar Garage take the right turn onto Chestnut Glen (you will see a sign for the Woodpecker Pub) continue along this road until you get to Glenealy, about a 5-8 minute drive.
Organisers Instructions:
The route for this years race is similar to last year. It is 7.5km however it will start with a few hundred meters of fire road to space out the field
It will take in the mountain peak and a lot of fast downhill single track
Predominantly 2 climbs and 2 downhills

PARKING
: Parking is at Cooley Farm. Eircode A67VE42. They are kindly providing car parking. Car paring fee's will go to Cancer research. Google will bring you to the first entrance, but please proceed along the Glenealy road to the main entrance located 200m further on. There will be a marshal and signpost at the correct entrance. This is a private equestrian premises, so please drive slowly and carefully once on the premises. You will see that this is an immaculate yard, so please don't go banging the muck off your runners on it
Do not attempt to drive up the small road to the race start - there is absolutely no parking available on the road

Glenealy is a small village so please car pool to minimise impact and to ensure there is enough parking for all. Please carpool from Ashford House. There is a carpark at the N11 Ashford house in Ashford Village (beside prizegiving location)

Cooley Farm @ the Stables

All competitors, and particularly those who have not competed this year already, should READ the NEW REGISTRATION GUIDELINES.

You will need to REGISTER ON-LINE for the event and for the year if this is your first race this year

Registration will close at 12 noon on the day of the race to allow us print off the list of runners

On the night you will be directed to the 'Registered on-line' table to sign in you will then proceed to a second table to register your chip

If this is your first race this year, you will collect your number which you KEEP for the year. Please bring confirmation of number and registration

If you have already run this year you will or should have your number with you. It’s quite a headache for the organisers if you forget your number so PLEASE bring it

There will be no early starts for this race, the route is under 8 km and there is some narrow single track towards the end of the race. It is safer to have everyone starting at the same time. The race starts for everyone at 19:30 pm

Junior Runners/Short course: This race will start at 19.35 pm. The race will be the same route as the main race up to the turn point and straight back down route. This will be less than 5 km

Please have your full Level B kit with you

You should start the race at the specified gun-times or choose a distance that suits your ability.
 

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
