Route Description:

Route map for IMRA Forth Mountain Race by niamh kelly on plotaroute.com

The Senior race is 10 km and the Junior race is about 4.5 km. The trail is technical in places with few long drags. The surface is very mixed with: fire-track, forest-track, single-track, mud, puddles, riverbed, rocks and roots. There is a steep technical rocky descent towards the finish line before a 500 m down hill fire-trail to race to the finish.

Getting There:
The race starts at Three Rocks trail - trail head. There is limited car parking space in the at the start/finish. If possible use the Forth mountain hike car park 2km to the north of the race start/finish. Nice warm up and cool down opportunity. If using the Forth mountain hike car park cross the road and head south to the start line. You might see some of the race markings to get an idea of the final part of the race as you head to the start line.
LAST YEAR THE CAR FILLED UP SO PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH AS YOU MAY HAVE TO DRIVE TO THE OTHER FORTH MOUNTAIN HIKE CAR PARK

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
