Route Description:

This is an extension of the old route, and was first used in the 2010 race. The race now starts near the lower Ballinastoe car park and joins the Wicklow Way in Ballinastoe forest near the old start point. Please also note that you must stick to the Wicklow Way when you are on it - no shortcuts are allowed. The route no longer takes the short cut after crone woods up towards the An Oige Hostel, but instead remains on the Wicklow Way through the entire Glencree area. This has the affect of increasing the length of the race to about 25km, and adding about 200m of extra climb at the start.

No early starts. No headphones. Please don't leave any valuables in your car at car park.

From the finish line there will be a shuttle bus service back and forth to the car parking in Leopardstown. Last bus is 5pm. Leopardstown car park will close at 7.

We are grateful to the assistance of Stars of Erin GAA club who will provide us a room for drop-bags to be left off, for collection at the race finish line.

Drop off bags for the finish line should be a reasonable, not too big, size.

Parking & Registration (race sign-on) is at Leopardstown from 9:45 to 11am. Please arrive early, register and board the bus. No belongings to be left on the bus. Travel with what you expect to run with.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
