Vivian O'GormanJul 19 2025, 7:55pmHi All,

The great Snowdon race was run today in its 48th year. Over
400 runners took park including the elite Internationals...

It was a lovely clear sunny day. Well it was warm and humid
and one of those races where you were perspiring before
you started running at all!!

So you had to get through the first couple of kilometres before
you got a lovely cooling breeze!

In the men's race the Italians had a clean sweep winning the
top three places -
Luca Magri winning in 1.06.11
Of the Irish - 12th Killian Mooney 1.14.22
39th Rudy Mahre 1.24.33
Michael Patterson 1.29.27

The women's race was won by England who were first and third
with an Italian second...
The Irish - 13th Louise Murray 1.31.45
18th Aine Gosling 1.35.05
25th Carol Finn 1.41.06

Great placings and great times by all in tough conditions and
a great race...

Other Irish Times of particular note -
Matthew McConnell 7th in 1.12.06. 2nd place in the Open race.
Ian Conroy 1.28.22. Age category winner...
And finally Thomas Galvin ran his 28th Snowdon Race!!!

I had planned to make a comeback on the race this year it being the 50th
anniversary but it never materialised!
It's a fantastic race and I d encourage any imra runners looking for a real challenge next year to put the opening date for registration in their diary ( it sells out in minutes) special shout out to Tommy G the most capped Snowdon racer in the land.
