Vivian O'Gorman | Apr 19 2025, 6:11pm | Hi All, The ever popular and most anticipated Leinster League begins next Wednesday in Belmont Demesne. Alice Clancy is our Race Director for this nice run up the Little Sugarloaf. She has done a mountain of work!! for this race. Please have a look at the Event page and the Forum posts. A couple of notes for the Leinster League... There are 12 races in the League. If you enter a race and it's your first race of the year. You collect your race number, which includes the timing chip, at the race and you keep this number for the rest of the year. So keep it in your car. There is a Kit Requirement for each race. Bring this Kit with you to ALL the races. A decision as to what to bring in the race will be made by the Race Director on the night. However a mandatory Longsleeved Rain Jacket is required. No matter the weather if you don't have one - carry it or wear it - you will get a dnf.... One or two of the races may have an Entry Limit. This may be because of the terms on our race permit or the lack of car parking space. If this is to happen it will be posted on the forum before race registration opens So you have to keep an eye on the Forum... Race Registration will open on the Monday before each race at 9am... Carparking can be limited at some races. Please carpool as much as possible. The carpool section is at the bottom of each race event page. You can either put your car in or accept a lift from another runner. Volunteers are always welcome. If you are unfortunate and have an injury or you just don't feel like running VOLUNTEER... That's it - I think!!! If I've left out anything please put it up here... I should also mention that the Leinster League also includes the inaugural Leinster Junior League. And the best of luck to them!! Competition all round!! But just don't forget - Enjoy. I mean what else would you be doing on a Wednesday summer evening? |
Vivian O'Gorman | May 25 2025, 3:01pm | Hi All, Volunteers are needed for the next couple of Leinster League races... Brockagh - 4th June - Laptop Person and non running Volunteers... Djouce Ayling Abyss - 11th June - Laptop Person... Trooperstown - 18th June - non running Volunteers... So this is a great chance to get in one of your two non running Volunteering roles. Please don't leave it to the last minute. By Volunteering early it gives the Race Director time to organise... |
Vivian O'Gorman | May 26 2025, 4:59pm | The Race Directors of both Brockagh and Djouce Ayling Abyss are looking for Laptop Operators. Any takers???... |
Andy Keeling | Jun 12 2025, 8:25am | As we pass the half way mark of the season I'd like to thank everyone who has given in gear for our donations at the races. Gear is already getting to people who need it and is very appreciated. I'll be at the South east races on Saturday and Sunday in the Blackstairs if any South-easterners have any unused gear they'd like to donate. Also, the rest of the Leinster league, the big blue bag will be there if anyone has anything to throw in. Thanks guys. IMRA abú! |
Vivian O'Gorman | Aug 7 2025, 2:01pm | Hi Everyone, So the Leinster League for 2025 is done and dusted for another year!! Congratulations to Mark McAdden and Ana Michael who won the Men's and Women's titles. And well done to all the age category winners... As usual the time flew and the first race in Belmont Demesne for the Little Sugarloaf was ages ago!!... Of course none of these races can be organised without our wonderful Race Directors and Volunteers... So it's hats off to our Leinster League Race Directors - Belmont and Little Sugarloaf - Alice Clancy Sugarloaf Bowl - Graham Bushe Scarr - Rob Tobin Brockagh - Laura Flynn Djouce The Ayling Abyss - Dan Geelon Trooperstown Hill - Rachel Cinnsealach Ballinastoe - John Fitzgerald Carrick Mountain - Richard Leahy Carnavaddy - Shane Lynch Church Mountain - Liam Mooney Seahan - Martin Bagnall Bray Head - Orlaith Bourne Four of these Race Directors were first time RD's Robin Tobin - Richard Leahy - Shane Lynch and Orlaith Bourne... Also a big thank you for all the background work, advice and help to Liam Vines, Lillian Deegan and the IMRA committee... Plus the Junior League - a great idea and well worth organising. We're we all that young and brave to sprint off at the start and be still breathing at the finish!!! Thank you to ALL.... |
