Eoin PhelanJan 14 2025, 11:18amHi,
Are we allowed to use poles in this event and what is the cost of the bus from the finish line to the start line on the morning? or is that included in the overall cost?

Thanks,
Eoin
Michael McSweeneyJan 14 2025, 1:48pmEoin.
Yes you can use poles.
Bus price is included in the race entry fee, as is the top, the pizza and the beer.

Jenny MullarkeyJan 25 2025, 10:20amHi everyone, just wondering where to get a map for the event? First time doing an IMRA run. Thanks a mil
Kevin BroughtonJan 25 2025, 10:16pmJenny we’d usually just bring an OS map, I think this route crosses two maps though (79 and 85).
It’s usually allowed to have the route loaded on your watch (the gpx file on the map on event page) but whether you still have to carry an actual map would be at the discretion of race director and would usually only be the case for well marked routes (I don’t know if that applies to this route)
Jenny MullarkeyYesterday, 8:18pmHi Kevin, thanks so much for the reply. So the downloaded route onto my watch will suffice for the map so you think?
Kevin BroughtonYesterday, 11:30pmSorry Jenny my first reply was badly worded!
The map and compass is mandatory so you will need to carry these.
You’re allowed to use the map on your watch, but still have to carry the actual map as an emergency back up

Except in specific cases where the RD says it’s not necessary to carry a map, I don’t think it’s been mentioned for this race so assume you’ll need the maps(s)
