Stuart Scott | Dec 11 2024, 11:02am | Hi all, I'm looking to appoint an Assistant Treasurer to help with processing transactions. This will be more of a book-keeping role which will hopefully speed up waiting times for reimbursement and allow me to focus more on the accounts and budgeting. The number of transactions increased from 600 to 800 last year and if this year follows a similar trajectory, I could really do with the help. A second reason is to aid continuity. This will be my last year as Treasurer, and while I won't disappear entirely, having an assistant in place will greatly help the transition. Ideally the assistant would step up and take on the Treasurer role next year (subject of course to being elected at the AGM) but just as equally, the assistant could continue in the role and aid the new Treasurer coming in. The tasks will include reviewing expense claims and invoices, clarifying missing details with claimants, recording transactions on the spreadsheet and setting up payments on the banking system for approval. If you're interested in this delightful opportunity or would like more information please let me know. Interest will no doubt be high so applications will be subject to a rigorous interview process. (Seriously though, the level of work involved isn't too high, especially when spread throughout the year and a couple of hours each week or so would be enough. It can be done in your own time and is a great way of giving something back to the organisation while continuing to enjoy as many races as possible). Many thanks! Stuart |
Martina Colville | Dec 13 2024, 6:37pm | Hi Stuart, I’m sure you are inundated with applications for this role. I have to confess it’s not my forte being more of an abacus type person and I certainly wouldn’t don the title of assistant treasurer as that would be a misnomer but if you need a hand over the coming months let me know. With a bit of luck you’ve found somebody more qualified. |
Stuart Scott | Jan 5 2025, 11:08am | Hi Martina, many thanks for your prompt reply and sorry for my late follow up. I had deliberately taken a break from the IMRA work for the past month! Would you mind sending me an email at treasurer A-T imra DO-T ie? Thanks again! |
Martina Colville | Jan 11 2025, 10:07am | Hi Stuart, just in case you missed it, I sent you an email with my contact details. |
Stuart Scott | Jan 20 2025, 9:24am | Thanks a million to Martina Colville, Hugh McDowell and Ailbhe Donnellan who have all volunteered to help out. It's a true example of the volunteer mindset of IMRA, and it's great to have them on board! |
