Darragh ReynoldsMar 17 2023, 8:34amHi All.
Travelling from the west.
Does anyone have directions from Laragh village to the meeting point?
Thanks.
Elizabeth WheelerMar 18 2023, 2:07pmHI Darragh,
If you are coming from Dublin via Roundwood on the R755, you come to Glendalough Green - a cafe on the right hand side. Without travelling on into Laragh village you go up the road on the far side of the cafe - the R115 Old Miliary Road. The race start is about 500m up that road.
Note also that there is limited parking so it is encouraged to car pool from either the few parking spaces at the bottom of the hill (note note Glendalough Green patron spaces) or from the large free walkers car park at the Woolen Mills. See note on Events Page.
Hope that makes sense.

Darragh ReynoldsMar 18 2023, 5:47pmThanks Elizabeth, Tim.
Much appreciated.
Patrick MarshallMar 19 2023, 9:54pmThanks a mill for organising the race today. Great opportunity for all the young athletes.
Miriam MaherMar 19 2023, 10:08pmGreat turnout out today for the trials. Hats off to Elizabeth Wheeler, another first time RD this weekend. Organized and delivered the event fantastically.

Always such a buzz seeing the up and coming juniors talent on the hills, travelling from all areas of the country for the trials.

Good luck to the selected teams for the WMRA U18 Youth Cup.
Tim GrummellMar 20 2023, 12:58amAgreed fully with Miriam, fair play to everyone involved to make today a great success, loads of hard kms put in by all the athletes in the lead up to today, very competitive feild out in the lads in particular, biggest feild we're seen from them ever I think. Hell of alot of new faces out today which is vital to push the sport forwards. Bring on Annecy the end of May now!

And for anyone reading this who might of missed out on today, next up we have the u20 world championship trials on 30th April in Seefin (seefin short course in the events page), and also the British and Irish u17 and u20 in early September and will be sending teams to that also, so keep an eye out on the website for a trail for that in around July!
Elizabeth WheelerMar 20 2023, 1:30pmSincere thanks to all the race marshalls and photographers yesterday who made the organisation seamless.
A huge well done to all the ahtletes on their team selection, the MJ times were simply outstanding. And a shout out the other juniors who came along to get some invaluable race experience on the hills.
I know there were a few disappointed faces at the finish line but there will be plenty of other opportunities that we can work towards - Seefin Short Course as a qualifier fro the World Championships in Innsbruck in June!. Keep an eye on the HP WhatsApp as we will be organising a recce of this route in the coming weeks.
Another date for the diary is the 15th April U20 and Junior Development Day in Glendalough with Sarah McCormack and Zak Hanna.
Lots to look forward to!
