New Club Requests

AuthorDateMessage
Conor O'FarrellJan 2 2023, 7:11pmHi All

Just a quick FYI regarding adding new clubs to the clubs list.

It was decided by the committee last year that any new club requesting membership, should be a registered AAI club. This decision was based on the number of random running groups being requested. This will take effect from now, the 2023 year.

Existing club listings will remain for historical reasons, but any new requests going forward must include a ling to the club's AAI listing and membership no.

Also, all new club requests must be send through to results@imra.ie. Any club appearing in the list that does not follow these procedures in the future will be removed.

Thanks

Conor O'FarrellMar 28 2023, 1:16pmHi Sean

If tie club was not listed in AAI, that is probably where it stopped. I do have a few emails queued up to look at later in the week, so you may see it pop in then if everything is in order.

Andrew MooreOct 4 2024, 12:51pmThanks for replying David

I see the notes regarding the AAI Membership, and thats fair not allowing random clubs to sign up.

We ran the Wicklow Way Relay as a club back in 2022 and I believe tried the forum club register years ago (but had no luck, and currently can't find the thread)

Are there any exceptions to this as we have a big group of trail runners who have only ever been exposed to Ecotrails, KWUs and non IMRA based trail events and we'd like to add a load of IMRA events onto our calendar?

Also, will begin exploring affiliation today.
Andrew MooreOct 8 2024, 7:39pmJust an update.

Following the procedure according to Athletics Ireland. If anyone has insight into the length of the process that would be great.

And if in the meantime there is leniency to add a new club to the IMRA site?

Below also is the process according to Athletics Ireland

*If you wish to start a new club you will need to contact your area Regional Development Officer,(listed under contacts in our website) and discuss setting up a club.
It then goes to your County Board for approval.
Once that approval is granted, it comes to us to set up on the system*
Jeff SwordsOct 8 2024, 7:48pmHi Andrew,
The requirement that a club should be AI registered still stands I'm afraid.
James HigginsOct 8 2024, 8:17pmHi Andrew, if your club is Dublin based then the Dublin Athletic Board's website is https://www.dublinathletics.com/contact-us.

I don't see an application form there, but I am aware that a new form was up for discussion - I attend their monthly meetings on behalf of my club.

Try contacting some of the newer clubs at https://www.dublinathletics.com/clubs, even if you are not Dublin based. They should give you some advice. e.g. Irish Mountain Trail Runners A.C, Irish Mountain Cardio A.C ,Marino Institute of Education A.C or Polish Runners Club Ireland to name a few.
Andrew MooreOct 9 2024, 6:12amThanks for this James.

I will go down that route. Appreciate the help.

Will go down that route also.
