Richard Nunan | Jul 25 2020, 10:15am | Well Done to Daniela and Philip on their Wicklow Round success. in 23hrs 15min. Conditions off Tonduff were mist, rain and savage winds. but lucky it was on their backs on the road. The 3rd lady to have completed the round, not bad for a lady who hasnt ran further than 56km before, hope to see more woman out there soon, ye are obviously made of stronger stuff! Super to see all the families and supporters (even the record holder) out there last night on their massive occasion. Well done! |
Philip O'Connell | Jul 27 2020, 1:02pm | Hi All, Thanks a million for the well wishes. It was a brilliant day out, couldn't have asked for better, even the weather played ball for the most part. Something of a rarity the last few weeks. Things got interesting heading up Scarr, it got very wet and windy right the way up to Knocklogue, but luckily calmed down until just at Tonduff where it picked up with a vengeance again. We were on the home straight at that stage and let gravity do its job carrying us down past Lough Bray towards PWS. Thanks to Richard and the wider IMRA community for all the support and encouragement received up to and during the event, it really provided us with such a boost. Will write up a more detailed report in the coming weeks to share with everyone. Thanks again. Philip & Daniela |
John J Barry | Jul 27 2020, 1:31pm | Fabulous Performance Philip / Daniella, Did the poor weather from Tonduff force your hand on the longer(but safer) 'road' route to PWS or was that always your intention? |
