Catherina McKiernan Talk

Date:
Saturday 29th August, 2009
Time:
20:00
Organisers Instructions:
Catherina McKiernan is one of Ireland's most successful international athletes. She has won the London, Amsterdam and Berlin marathons, has a European Gold cross-country medal and 4 world cross-country medals.

Catherina will give a talk on her life in sport, exclusively for IMRA Volunteer Panel members, on Saturday August 29 in the Fitzwilliam hotel on Stephen's Green. See map.

Catherina now teaches Chi-running, a technique for injury-free running which will be of interest to many mountain runners, so we've asked her to brief us on this topic too.

If you're already a member of the Volunteer Panels, then you're welcome to come along on the night. Bring a guest if you wish.

If you're not on a Volunteer Panel, then you're welcome to come along and join one or more of the panels on the night.

We will have some copies of Catherina's autobiography "Running for my Life" available on the night.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
