Getting There

Please carpool where possible. Do not park blocking any access gates as this would block an emergency vehicles access. There is a large carpark available for use

The Route

The route is 5km in distance and is a loop trail. The route will be marked with yellow and red IMRA flags and tape throughout. This route has spectacular views of Benbulben, it follows the main looped walk and has a gravel path under foot, there are some gradual climbs and downhills along the route. The short course is 4km in distance and connects with the same path as the 5km. Girls from age 6 to 10years must be accompanied on the run route by a guardian or parent. Girls 11 to 17 years may run the route themselves but the parent or guardian must be onsite for start and finish.

Important

All Runners MUST carry/wear a rainproof jacket for the entirety of the race. Any runner found not to be carrying the mandatory jacket will be disqualified. This is for health and safety reasons. We will be checking!

To reduce plastic waste there will only be paper cups provided for water for this event, even better if you can bring your own cup or keep cup. You are asked to only use one cup and not take additional. Jugs will be available to refile your cup.

Please follow the Leave No Trace principles for respecting the environment and the forest trails - https://www.leavenotraceireland.org/education/education-introduction/

You will then receive your race number, which you keep for all IMRA events/races. This number will be emailed to you, but can also be found on your MyIMRA profile once you have joined You can collect your number at your first event of the calendar year. Do not lose this number! Entry for events is via the IMRA website. You must sign in at registration before run start. As above, a jacket must be carried with you/worn for all IMRA events.

Carpooling

Is strongly encouraged, there is an option to add your car for carpooling and to accept carpool spots for races. IMRA is entirely run by volunteers, we strongly encourage everyone to volunteer so that we can all enjoy participating in events, if you've any questions about volunteering or knowing more about what's involved, please ask!

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
