Killiney Hill Relay - Report by Joe Lalor
The weather spoiled the start to the Hillrunning "summer" season. Twenty three brave souls and a number of officials braved the ferocious rain to attend the annual relay to kick off the years Wednesday night racing. Held for the second year in Killiney Forest Park. Seven teams were picked at random to do three laps of the 2.5 km course which was treacherously slippy in places, fortunately there was only one minor injury on the night. Members of The Lord Family Wicklow Way Relay Team were also there getting in a bit of hillrunning training for June 8th.
Times were at least a minute down on last years due to the conditions and first leg times are approximate due to a malfunctioning stop clock, however 2nd and 3rd legs are correct as are all relative placings See below for winning teams. Fastest lap on the night was run by Eamonn Horgan in 11.34
