As far as my incomplete set of results back to 1980 can tell John O'Reilly won his first hill race today, not a bad feat for a M40. He had a bit of help from Vincent O'Sullivan who made a navigational error. Vincent was over a half a kilometre in front at the turn-a-bout but in spite of excellent visibility went astray, easy enough to do when out in front all on your own.
