On the day that the heat wave came to an end so too did most of the season's championships.
John Lenihan collected his umpteenth Irish Championship while Paul Nolan, who was not competing yesterday, came out on top in the king of the mountains series.

The going was very tough with high winds on all three peaks while next to no visibility on Galtee Mor and Galtee Beag made for difficult navigation with as many routes off the mountain as runners.
As was the case in the last IC race no one could stick the Lenihan pace and he was a clear winner with over five minutes to spare.

The friendly rivalry between Ladies Irish team mates Roisin and Nicky who were only separated by one point in the championship table before the race was definitely settled in Nicky's favour by the end of the race.
