Beautiful race, beautifully designed although in such majestic surroundings, it would kinda hard to design a bad course, so only half a kudos to Graham, today's course designer. Anyway, smashing, dry late morning. Angela, today's race director, let's us runners off the leash to tackle the first hill which leads pretty quickly to the second hill and then the 3rd one. The whole 420 meters of total elevation is done within the first 5k. Easy peasy. One volunteer (thank you all of you) is warning us the section ahead is a bit greasy (or was it fairly greasy?), but in reality it was a slippery slope in its purest form. Trying to find the right balance between going down hard and avoid the fall was quite the challenge.
So, as always, good craic, good people, lovely mud, another truly enjoyable IMRA event, pure and simple.
