2001 Races
Camaderry - Preliminary report by Douglas Barry
Simon Fairmaner had a comfortable win on the steep Camaderry race overlooking the scenic Glendalough lakes in Co. Wicklow. He had a good margin on a close battle for second place which was resolved in favour of Paul Mahon at the expense of Gerry Lalor. While Simon was well over a minute outside John Lenihan's outright record of 54.07 set last year, records fell in most of the other categories with new ones being set by Ailis Brosnan in the women's race, her husband Bernie Pabon in the over 40 vets, and Ercus Stewart in the over 50 supervets.
A full report will follow from someone who was actually there!!
