Victory for Irish Senior Men

Ireland’s senior men’s team won the 3rd holding of the Karrimor international trail race in Keswick. Brian MacMahon (Clonliffe Harriers) led the team home in second place only seven seconds behind Andi Jones. Jones is a previous Snowdon winner and has run a 2:15 marathon. Mark Ryan (Rathfarnham WSAF) followed up his recent winning run on leg 2 of the Wicklow Way Relay with a solid run in sixth position. Ryan is preparing for the European Masters Mountain Running Championships in mid-June where he will start as a potential medallist. Tom Hogan (Sliabh Buidhe Rovers) finished eight to consolidate the team victory.All three athletes will run the trial race for the European Athletics Federation mountain running championships. The trial takes place in Wicklow on 7th June. The trial for the International Youth Cup (born 1997-1998) will be held in conjunction with the junior trial.
