| Mags Greenan | Jul 1 2010, 9:50pm | Good luck to the senior and juinor athletes travelling to Bulgaria in the small hours of the am Fri 2nd July. Poor Claire Brennan had to get up at the same time this day last week travelling to Itaily. And what about poor Emmet Jennings who has to get home pack and sleep all in about 6 hrs having just come off the track in Santry. He has only won the 3,000 m steeple chase in a time of 9.09 which leaves him one sec inside the qualifeying time for the world jr championships in Canada this August. What a preformance! I hope the long journey is not too difficult and the craic is mighty. Great to see some new athletes making their mnt debuts, Garry , Denise Suzanne and, Shane. Enjoy the experience and I am sure the fantastic prefomance of the youths team last weekend will inspire you. It is just amazing what wearing the Irish gear can do for your morale. | Gerry Brady | Jul 4 2010, 7:30am | European results Results are slowly coming through from Bulgaria (updates will be added here). Emmet Jennings was a fantastic ninth place in the junior men. Our previous best junior men placing in the Europeans was Michael Dowling in 30th in France in 2007. In the World Junior Colm de Burca was 10th in 1990, and in 1994 Kieran Lynch was 10th and Pearse Hickey 11th. The team finished 11th.
