Aoife Joyce | Oct 11 2008, 6:01pm | Hi Leanne, Cross country is for everybody. We're actually looking for runners to represent a Crusaders team tomorrow at a 4k cross county in Tymon Park. If you are interested contact me on o87 six three 66 eight hundred. Aoife |
Leanne Cooke | Oct 14 2008, 3:01pm | I think ill give this cross county event a go. I am not doing the marathon so I can give it my full attention. However, before I can give it my full attention I need to find out where the venue is! I can’t find any mention of it anywhere; even on the AAI web site which has a blank venue box for the race. Can anyone help? |

Tim Grummell | Nov 13 2008, 10:57pm | Thanks for the photos James! Some muckfest it was, most hill runs are far easier!!! |
tressan mccambridge | Nov 14 2008, 6:12pm | James McFadden won the Ulster novice individual title for Letterkenny AC last Sunday. It was a muckfest but a fantastic race .. 'Right from the sounding of the starters whistle we saw two athletes, the lightly raced James McFadden from Letterkenny and the durable Spartan from the City of Derry club Declan Reed, go shoulder to shoulder. And so it remained, as this pair breathed each other’s air for a full twenty one minutes, as they strode out hip bones touching, giving not an inch, each seeking to hold his ground and rounding the final bend with less than a 100 metres to the finish, one would not care to lay a bet on who would be crowned the champion. Inside the final 50m and McFadden steals a body width, with every ligament and tendon visibly straining he held on, finishing with 20.52 on the clock to Reed’s 20.53.' |
Paul Joyce | Nov 14 2008, 11:00pm | ...and a fantastic report too. That was a pleasure to read. |
Rene Borg | Nov 15 2008, 8:29pm | Great stuff James, excellent result, and great to see another hill runner showing their quality in our "sister"-disciplines. |
