gerry brady | Mar 23 2008, 10:16am | http://www.imra.ie/?subsec=forum&sec1=forumtopic&category=&ID=5229 Please see the link above for the earlier announcement of the teams for Susa by Caroline (Laura you have been selected, well done). I have copied Caroline's posting below: ... "The Teams are as follows: The Boys Team: Michael Dowling - Scoil Congeas, Baltinglas John Harrington - Maria Immaculate CC Dunmanway Emmet Jennings - Oatlands College,Dublin NON-travelling reserves: 1st non travelling reserve - George Slye (from Senior) 2nd non travelling reserve - Jordan Logue (from Inter) The Girls Team: Eimear Tangney - St.Bridgets, Killarney, Co.Kerry Laura Hannigan - Loreto Foxrock, Dublin Gayle Finn - Colaiste Treasa, Kanturk Non-travelling reserves 1st Non travelling reserve Carol Huet 2nd Non travelling reserve Ashling Walsh I would like to congratulate them all on their selection." Unfortunately there are no photographs of the Irish schools race, when you allow for the huge amount of work just managing the race on the day, it is not always possible to have another person free to take photographs. Between organising the Leinster schoos and then the Irish schools, Caroline has done the work of around 20 volunteers! |

Caroline Reid | Mar 25 2008, 2:45pm | Hi folks, I?ve been away so apologies about the delay in getting back regarding some of the issues above ? I?ll deal with the one by one: ROBBIE, please contact me on 086 4035910 regarding your spikes which have been found in Millstreet. PHOTOS: Unfortunately we didn?t have a volunteer available at the Irish schools to take photos. Some teachers took photos and if I can get copies of these, I will put them on the IMRA website. TEAMS FOR SUZA, further to Gerrys earlier note, this can be seen on my forum message on 15th March at the following link: http://www.imra.ie/?subsec=forum&sec1=forumtopic&category=&ID=5229 Letters have been sent to the schools in connection with the Suza teams. SELECTION CRITERIA FOR INTERNATIONAL EVENTS: Please see Gerry Bradys forum posting on 5th March regarding selection criteria for all International events at the following link. http://www.imra.ie/?subsec=forum&sec1=forumtopic&category=&ID=5155 On 12th July, the European championships will be held in Germany on an up and down 4 km. lap course. It looks as though it will be a fast race as the course looks unusually easy for a mountain race and provides an ideal opportunity for fast Irish runners to feature prominently in an official European Athletics championship. The trial will be held in Crone Wood on 21st June (a map and profile of the trial course are available on the IMRA website). The team will be selected on an All Ireland basis. Performances in the World Youths Challenge, which is being held on the same weekend as the trial, will also be taken into account for selection of the junior teams (born 1989-1992). On 14th September, the World Trophy will be held in Switzerland on an uphill course. The trial to select the senior and junior teams (born 1989-1992) will be held on 17th August. A separate team from Northern Ireland will be selected by NIMRA. On 12th October, the British and Irish under-age races are being held in Scotland (born 1990-1995). Separate trials will be held in September. Form during the year will also be taken into account. I hope this answers all the questions, but if anyone has any further queries in relation to any of the above, please contact me directly on caroline.reid@imra.ie or 086 4035190. I will reply to you after the day job i.e. 6pm. Thank you. |
