Elizabeth WheelerYesterday, 8:40amCongratulations to the U20 Irish Team Selected for the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships 2025

IMRA is proud to announce the athletes selected to represent Ireland at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, taking place this September in Canfranc, Spain.

From a highly competitive field of 34 talented athletes, just 8 spots were up for grabs—making this one of our most closely contested selections to date. The final places came down to mere seconds, with only 4 seconds separating 4th and 5th in the U20 Girls, and 10 seconds in the U20 Boys. A true testament to the grit and determination of every runner involved!

Congratulations to the athletes selected:

U20 Boys Team

Finn Yore
Eoin McConnell
Rudy Mayne
Riley Connolly

U20 Girls Team

Anna McGookin
Abby Smith
Sinead Farrell
Alaoise Geraghty

I would also like to extend a huge thank you to all the marshals and volunteers whose dedication, time, and effort made the trials and selection process possible.

Best of luck to the team as they prepare to take on the mountains of Spain and fly the Irish flag high.
