James HeggieJun 6 2025, 9:56amJust one quick question I know it’s fully self supported but are there any useable water sources at all? I mean like available taps , flowing water etc ?
Walsh RowanJun 6 2025, 1:15pmJamie, there is a spring on Galtymore as you descend towards Galtybeg. It is literally water flowing from the ground, a water fountain it is not. You would need to know where it is, as it is not that easy to find. I have never taken a drink from it but I have been assured it is ok. Weather tomorrow is expected to add a little excitement so that may make it even harder to find.

Robert CunninghamJun 7 2025, 6:30pmThanks To Trisha and all the great volunteers today. The race had everything for us today, cool calm start, then cloud cover, hail and driving rain and to finish off warm and sunny, yes I did get a sunburnt face.
This race is sooo good can't wait for next year.
Patricia RyanJun 7 2025, 7:49pmThanks Tricha and all the volunteers who looked after us today. What a fantastic event this is. Well done everyone.
Brian MullinsJun 7 2025, 9:24pmThanks to Trish and all the volunteers for a brilliant race today. This is one of the best races on the calendar no doubt about it. Report is incoming but a word of warning, Limerick natives will not be happy with the content of same!!
Brian MullinsJun 7 2025, 10:56pmReport up. Forgive the county tribalism!
Brian HouriganJun 8 2025, 12:46pmThanks to the organisers, volunteers and runners yesterday was another super and challenging event. Doesn't matter how many times you go up that Templehill approach, it never gets easier. I'm fairly sure we got 3 seasons of weather to add to the day up there too. @Brian, enjoy looking after the Mick Mackey cup as we've only let ye borrow it for the year. No dents on it please, it's named after a Limerick man afterall.
Karen ShannonJun 8 2025, 2:54pmMy first time in The Galtees and absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back next year. Thank you for a brilliant event, really cool t-shirt and great grub after :-)
Patricia BlackburnJun 8 2025, 3:59pmDelighted we got everyone through it alive and (almost)well!!
A few minor casualties.
Thanks to my great team of volunteers who put down a long and busy day. We all worked really well together and got the job done.
Appreciate all your effort.

It was definitely a day of many seasons as the runners have testified to but we also had plenty happening at the Castle car park, with the farmers market in the morning and live trad music in the afternoon. Sure we were all well entertained. It did make for a lovely atmosphere.
Congratulations to all the participants on conquering this epic course and for those who were not so successful for one reason or the other, don't loose heart, there's always next year.
Patricia BlackburnJun 8 2025, 4:03pmForgot to thank Robert Cunningham who does a lot of work in the background and is always so helpful. So thanks Robert.

Deirdre O GormanJun 9 2025, 8:37amBig thanks to Trich and all the brilliant volunteers; particularly Martin, Tom, Jane and Ger who had the coldest, windiest spots for the day! A proper Galty day with bog, climbs, bog, wind, bog, rain, bog, sun, bog, falls, bog, chats, bog, laughs and some more bog...everything you need for a super day out!
