Benjamin EmesMay 20 2025, 9:25amHi, First time solo IMRA race (Wicklow way relay last week) and I don’t have a race number printed yet. Do I collect that on the day or anything I need to do in advance? WWR didn’t need a number printed. Thank you!
John ShielsMay 20 2025, 9:27amHi Benjamin,
You collect your number at the registration of the next race you go to. The WWR is an exception to the rules as it is a relay
Brian O'GradyMay 21 2025, 1:03pmHi Folks
I've signed up as a race-marker. It's my first time volunteering so apologies if I am asking an obvious question.
How do comms take place between the volunteers so I get the race marking flags etc in place before Sunday?
Thanks
Brian
Peter O'FarrellMay 21 2025, 9:39pmHello Brian,

Usually the Race Director will have your email address and/or phone number on their logged in page and can contact you.

The race marking guidelines are within the volunteering roles sections https://www.imra.ie/volunteering/role/id/4/ as a downloadable document when you click on the grey bolded text "Race Marking Guidelines".

Best of luck with the marking.
Brian O'GradyMay 22 2025, 11:02amGreat. Thanks Peter

Alice ClancyMay 26 2025, 9:00amA huge thank you to Rowan and the volunteer crew for such a lovely race yesterday! That downhill that seemed to link every mountain bike trail in the forest was brilliant!!! Has to be the best downhill forest route on the calendar. The whole thing was really well organised, marked and marshalled and lovely sandwiches after too. Really recommend this one next year. Well worth the trip!!!
Ps does anyone know what that guy lugging the huge rock up the hill was doing?
Micheal McSweeneyMay 26 2025, 9:19amAlice, he's a local guy named Sysyphus. Runs a Greek restaurant in Killaloe. :-)
Thanks to Rowan and crew for a great day out. Some downhill alright.
Walsh RowanMay 26 2025, 1:25pmMany thanks for the great feedback and for everyone who volunteered on the day to make it possible.

Also a special thank you to Martin Cooney for his astral projection workshop: demonstrating how you can be physically at the finish line yet spiritually lost on the trail.
