Ann Marie Donlon | May 11 2025, 6:55pm | Hi, I am looking for a lift back towards Cork city (Glanmire ideally) on Saturday after the challenge. I would grateful if anyone can help me out. My number is 0868218933 |
Kate McMullan | May 13 2025, 5:51pm | Hi Stephen, will there be a water stop on the route or should we carry enough for the full race? Thanks. |
Stephen O Keeffe | May 13 2025, 6:15pm | Hi Katie, There will be two water/aid stations at around 7 km and 13 km. Before and after the ascent of Knockoura. You come back to the same station after the descent. The reason for carrying water from the start being mandatory is purely for safety as it has been very hot recently. There was a couple of runners got heat exhaustion from the heat in Slievenamon on Sunday. There will be an email sent out with all the information on Friday after entries close. See you Saturday Best Regards Stephen |
Kate McMullan | May 13 2025, 9:34pm | Perfect, thanks Stephen. Yes, looking like a scorcher! |
Lillian Deegan | Today, 10:16am | You know that saying they’d give you the shirt off their back - well, I got the sock off her foot version yesterday. It seemed like a go faster sock too! I’m ever so grateful to Linda and her young lad at the Challenge midway pit stop. Equally as happy to see Anita on the stile for the 2nd time knowing the finish line was no way off. Although, that run back in felt like twice the distance from the outward jaunt. Thanks a thousand to Stephen, Kirsten, Marie and all munster crew for a fantastic outing yesterday on my little run about. I’ve met a dose of new imra folk Michael, Robbie and your whole team about the 100 miler and Lite routes - what a wonderful setup from gun time to closing. The ease and enthusiasm felt everywhere was nothing short of infectious. Plenty of belly aching laughter had - ‘twas all just amazing altogether. Huge applause to all! I hope ye manage to get a bit of nice downtime today for yourselves. Stephen O’Keeffe joined the IMRA 50th + Volunteer Club this weekend. Stephen is only with us since 2022 if I’m not mistaken and to hit this milestone in such a short timeframe is nothing short of incredible. More power to you Stephen! And thanks very much from all of us. Lastly, Michael, I nearly didn’t know yeah with your t-shirt on :) Till next time lads - Lillian. |
Alice Clancy | Today, 11:41am | Thank you Stephen, Kirsten, Maire, Michael, Anita, Linda and all the volunteer team yesterday! That was such a beautiful run, so well organised and marked and with great support out on the hills and great fun after in the gazebo on the square! The short course of the weekend was epic enough in itself…very tempted to return next year to give the medium a bash! Congratulations Stephen on your volunteering contribution. It’s very much appreciated! |
Kate McMullan | Today, 3:19pm | Wow, what a brilliant afternoon in the hills! Thank you Stephen, Kirsten, Linda and all of the volunteers on the route for making it so special. It was amazing to have the opportunity to crew for the Ultra and also take part in the Challenge. Everything was so well organised. Thanks so much to all. Back to Wicklow now with fabulous memories from a great weekend! |
