Brian Mullins | Jan 1 2025, 7:46pm | Thanks to Mariusz and all the volunteers for a great race today. The Bweeng course has a mix of everything and is a good test of where the fitness is at. Given the overnight heavy rain the course was still in good shape and the organisation top notch. It was very hard to leave the roaring stove in Laharn Hall but the cold rain showers outside were calling so we all lined up at 12 for the off. Great to see Barry and Sean in such good running form this early in the year. It gives one hope that they might be burnt out by mid year and give the rest of us a chance!!! Lots of cobwebs blown away with that run and a great leveller for the work that is required for the early spring, basically lots!!! Onwards! |

Robbie Williams | Jan 2 2025, 9:39pm | Too sick myself to run yesterday but what a beautiful seasonal treat this years New Years Day rave was. Bweeng Trail runners and Mariusz certainly outdid themselves this time. Well marked course, and a great short and kiddies course too was provided. After a number of weeks without races it really highlighted how friendly the races are with everyone shouting encouragement and clapping runners home. The community center with the roaring fires, hot mulled wine (thanks Damien) and sambos and cakes to beat the band was outstanding. Such a cozy and friendly vibe all round. Great to see also the increase in ladies participation in the trail races , I remember 10 years ago only having maybe 3 or 4 ladies running and yesterday was 38 ladies finishing with 72 men finishing , which is brilliant! Really hope everyone enjoyed it as much as a non runner did and don’t forget to register for Corrin on time which promises to be a great route this coming Sunday. IMRA Abú |
